Q. When did Iowa, Maryland, and Michigan obtain full licensure for DOs?
For my osteopathic retrospective presentation next month at the Maryland Association of Osteopathic Physicians annual meeting, I need to know when DOs were granted full, unlimited practice rights IN IOWA. I know they didn’t have full practice rights in 1931, but the only other mention of it I can find (in Wikipedia) is that Iowa granted full practice rights equal to MDs sometime between 1931 and 1966. I am hoping to get an exact year.
If it is easy for you to let me know when EACH STATE granted full, unlimited practice rights to DOs, I would like to have that information. But if that would be a tedious and/or time consuming job, I would be satisfied with knowing when MARYLAND and MICHIGAN granted full, unlimited practice rights to DOs.
